Calleen Art Award 2024

The annual Calleen Art Award was established in 1977 as an acquisitive art prize by Mrs Patricia Fagan OAM to encourage originality, creativity and excellence in the visual arts, and is made possible by the generous support of the Calleen Trust. The Calleen Art Award 2024 is open to artists across Australia and the award prize for 2024 is $30,000. The winning artwork will join the Calleen Collection at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.

Since its inception in 1977 by Cowra Art Patron Mrs Patricia Fagan OAM the Calleen Art Award has celebrated contemporary art practices and fostered originality, creativity and excellence in the visual arts.

This year the Calleen Art Award will feature an exciting range of 48 compelling artworks selected by a panel of art professionals from over 250 entries.

The Calleen Art Award 2024 Judge is Richard Perram OAM, Independent Curator and former Director, Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (2004 – 2018).

The Gallery is pleased to announce the winner of the Calleen Art Award 2024 is Sofala based artist Amanda Penrose Hart for her painting Shepherd’s Lookout 2023, oil on canvas.

The Calleen Art Award is a “must-see” opportunity for art enthusiasts, and visitors can vote for their favourite artwork in the People’s Choice, announced at the end of the exhibition.
