Artist Statement

This painting is part of a current ongoing series titled 'The Beloved' which I started in late 2021, and is based off an old family photograph of the Pappinbarra River as it curved around a farm property that my family once owned. It is the only place I believe I have ever been truly homesick for and a subject I paint often. The memories of holidays spent by the river are dear to me and I hold them close always.
