Artist Statement

This painting was created from a plein air painting I did a few years ago on the Wodi Wodi track back when the creek was dry. The track is named after the original custodians of the land in the Illawarra in NSW and can be found on an escarpment containing the most extensive area of rainforest in the Sydney basin. The area acts as an important refuge for species that are affected by environmental disturbances such as development and bushfires.
