Artist Statement

For years I’ve commuted between Yass and Canberra for work. In the late afternoon, my northwesterly return journey offers spectacular skies, but there is always the need to be vigilant for roos and oncoming traffic.

Normally I would paint loosely, leave my brushstrokes visible, but the concentration I have when driving seems more effectively conveyed in a tighter style.
