Artist Statement

To really immerse yourself in Australia’s snowy high plains, you really need to don some walking boots, get on a mountain bike, or strap on some skis, or snowshoes. Getting ‘Out There’, beyond the resorts, and discovering the gullies, sinuous snow gums and drifts of snow is a treasured experience that has shaped my artwork. This painting is painted from my memories of many trips into the fragile alpine environment during spring.
