This work is part of an ongoing series dealing with my sense of the Sublime found in the landscape around Bathurst where I live. To me, trees represent the most compelling elements of the sublime in nature, with their constant submission to seasonal regeneration - in this case winter branches of a willow tree at Tarana. The glimpses through the tangle of branches to the light beyond, suggests an inexplicable ‘otherness’ which lies at the core of human enquiry.
