Artist Statement

In my art practice I seek to illuminate, rather than illustrate, relationships of place, history and personal experience. My ongoing connection with the land manifests itself as a visceral instinctive attraction to materials and surface quality that celebrates the rich vocabulary and nuances of the tamed and untamed environment. This work comments on our often, vexed relationship with it.
