Artist Statement

It takes time for landscapes to regenerate after natural disasters. This work is a response to the devastation of the 2020 fires. Small mosses begin to grow on discarded wires suggesting that life can cling to unlikely surfaces and prevail within the constant flux and instability experienced in a time of global warming. This tenacity for survival should make us all try harder to preserve this place, our place.
