Marella: The Hidden Mission

Rita and Ralph, 1957

6 February to 7 March 2010

A thought-provoking and uplifting exhibition which tells the story, through photographs, newsletters and oral history, of Marella Aboriginal Mission Farm in Kellyville, NSW, 1940s–1980s.

Just as the social history material in the exhibition reveals a rare telling of very precious and personal histories, the accompanying artworks by artists from Moree, Tinga, Dubbo, Sydney, Cowra and Queensland examine this little-known chapter of the removed generations’ history.

A Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest Touring Exhibition.
