Bush Doll Workshop
Join a free kids workshop with Artist, Bethany Thornber.
The Bush Doll Workshop is a continuation of the storytelling and knowledge of my Pop who taught us grandkids to take care on Country, to be resourceful, and to make our own toys. These individual, small bush dolls were made on the river from sticks and string, we played with them all day and they quickly became treasured items in our personal childhood archives.
The workshop will be an opportunity to share this practice with young ones in the community through a 1-hour storytelling and bush doll making workshop that engages local primary school students. This kind of intergenerational knowledge transfer teaches the importance of caring for Country, recycling and reusing materials, and helps develop young storytellers.
